SALT LAKE CITY / HERRIMAN, Utah (Thursday, March 21, 2024) – All 14 of Utah Royals FC’s non-National 2024 regular-season matches will air locally in Utah on KMYU (2.2 over air / 12 satellite / 643 Comcast HD). Additionally, these locally-produced matches and their entire window will stream via the NWSL+ option. All games – including those airing on various national NWSL partners – will feature radio broadcasts from KSL Sports Radio (97.5 FM / 1280 FM) and affiliated properties.

KUTV and KMYU Vice President / General Manager Kent Crawford joins Utah Royals President Michelle Hyncik in announcing the multi-year broadcast carriage and production partnership today.

“I’m very excited for our Club to once again align itself with Salt Lake’s KMYU/KUTV, along with NWSL+ and obviously KSL Radio, as we all work cooperatively to fully promote women’s sports in yet another partnership which empowers these women and provides such valuable representation,” said Hyncik, excited about four of the next six Royals matches being played at America First Field in Sandy following Saturday’s historic opener.

The Royals’ 2024 NWSL Regular Season continues tomorrow, this Friday, March 22, with a 7:30p MT kickoff. Calling the match Friday and serving as the cornerstones of the Royals’ broadcast team are veteran RSL play-by-play man and iconic KUTV and KMYU broadcaster David James – the virtually perennial Utah Broadcaster of the Year – who will be reunited on select URFC broadcasts alongside color analyst Brian Dunseth, who remains one of Major League Soccer’s most prominent Apple TV+ / MLS Season Pass voices.

Another iconic Utah soccer voice, that of Carla Haslam, known for her broadcast work during the first iteration of the Royals as well as her BYU soccer career, will also appear throughout the season as a color analyst for both TV and radio.

“We are very excited to partner with the Utah Royals and the National Women’s Soccer League to bring these games to a growing audience of passionate fans and viewers,” said Kent Crawford, General Manager of KMYU MY UTAH TV and KUTV 2 NEWS. “RSL has long been a great community asset to the state of Utah, and we have missed their live games on our air. The Utah Royals FC relaunch is not just exciting, but brings that very strong Club brand back home to KMYU as we serve fans, viewers and the ever-growing women’s sports movement. We are proud to strengthen our partnership with such a terrific organization to help promote, broadcast and showcase all aspects of our state’s soccer pyramid.”

Utah Royals FC will be featured on the National Women’s Soccer League’s cavalcade of national broadcast partners – CBS, ESPN, Amazon Prime and ION/Scripps – 12 times in 2024, with the 26-game regular season augmented by this summer’s tournament TBA. Please check the NWSL app for complete broadcast information and NWSL+ live streaming / replay options for all Utah Royals FC matches.

“Real Salt Lake is a long-time, valued partner for KSL,” said Tanya Vea, President of Bonneville International, KSL’s parent company. “Whether pioneering local streaming, team coverage along with insights on www.KSLSports.com, or now offering games live on the radio through the KSL Sports Zone, we are proud to make it easy and convenient for fans to access Utah Royals FC content. We are looking forward to another great season of RSL & the Utah Royals on KSL.”

On the radio side, Utah Royals FC joins the KSL Sports Zone family, alongside numerous properties from across the state in a multitude of sports. Calling the NWSL action home and away for Utah Royals FC will be play-by-play commentator John Paul Chunga – host of the insightful Utah Jazz podcast “Roundball Roundup” – the West High and Syracuse Univ. alum.
